My work is inspired by the Tasmanian landscape and reflects my observations of spaces that I move through. These works refer to the diffused light of a rainforest floor, the shift in light that occurs with a sudden turn of the weather or the fading light at dusk which dissolves visual boundaries within familiar locations. Points of light within a landscape hint at portals, via the exaggeration or simplification of shape and colour and elements of landscape are reduced. Each of these conditions acts to render these landscapes as quiet meditations on space.
