There is nothing quite like ‘the gift of art’ to show loved ones how much you care. A beautiful piece by a Tasmanian artist is also a gift that lasts a lifetime, and Handmark has a wonderful range of options to suit all tastes and budgets, from bespoke jewellery to small ceramic treasures. However, if you really want to make a splash under the tree, why not consider one of the new works by Jonathan Partridge that are about to land at the gallery.
Jonathan is one of Tasmania’s most acclaimed artists, and while he is best known for large-scale works, his Christmas offerings are small – and special. They consist of six ‘Unique States’, or one-off prints created from a collage of fragments crafted out of existing works. Jonathan says these new prints “combine lots of little images that evoke memories of happy summer holidays.” They display our island’s unique coastal landscape resplendent with She Oaks and washed in blue hues punctuated by the rich colours of sunset: “These prints are a celebration of Tasmania and its summer.”
Meanwhile, it seems Jonathan has his Christmas gifts all wrapped up! His family will find a new sailboat under their Christmas tree and plan to head into the wide blue yonder to create new summer memories.
Handmark Gallery is open 7 days a week from 10am – 5pm weekdays and 10am – 4pm Weekends. Except Christmas day. |
