ben kurczok
Originally from Armidale, New South Wales, Ben Kurczok moved to Tasmania in 1990 and settled on the magical Tasman Peninsula. As early as his high school years, Ben discovered his passion for, and talent in, working with beautiful Tasmanian timbers. Upon his graduation in 1997, the Tasmania Kaleidoscope Factory offered Ben a traineeship in Small Business Management. He completed a Diploma in Art, Craft and Design with TAFE, Tasmania in 2000. With this solid grounding, Ben has continued to pursue his passion for woodwork and mastered the art of fine kaleidoscope making. More recently, Ben has been commissioned to create a number of larger outdoor installations from mediums such as aluminium and stainless steel. He also enjoys collaborating with local glass artists to develop new kaleidoscope designs. Ben, together with his wife Kate and young family, continue to operate the successful business from their home based studio at Eaglehawk Neck in Tasmania’s beautiful south – east.
